DSIP 10mg overview

DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide, CAS# 62568-57-4) is a synthetic nonapeptide originally isolated from rabbit thalamic venous blood by Monnier et al. (1977). NexPept supplies it as a lyophilized research reference standard for GABAergic and opioidergic receptor-binding assays, HPA-axis signalling studies, and peptide stability research. Not for use in any living organism.

Every lot is independently tested by a third-party analytical laboratory before it is listed. The Certificate of Analysis reports HPLC purity, mass spectrometry identity confirmation, and net-content verification, and stays published in our COA library after the batch sells out.

For background on the compound itself — the nonapeptide sequence, where it came from, and what fifty years of research has and has not established about it — see our DSIP research peptide overview.

Research context

DSIP is used as a peptide tool compound in preclinical in vitro settings. Published work has examined its interactions across GABAergic receptor modulation and inhibitory neurotransmission, the opioidergic signalling system, and corticotropin-releasing-factor and HPA-axis pathways.

As a defined 9-amino-acid sequence with consistent structural characteristics between lots, it is used in controlled laboratory environments to study neuropeptide-receptor interactions and downstream signalling mechanisms. Lot-to-lot consistency matters for this kind of work, which is why every NexPept batch is published with its own purity figure rather than a blanket claim.

This compound has not been authorized by Health Canada for any therapeutic, clinical, or human use.

Frequently asked questions

What testing does each batch go through?
Identity and purity are confirmed by high-performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry before a lot is listed. The current lot, NP-DSIP-02, tested at 99.13% on August 5, 2026. If a lot has not been tested, it does not go on sale.
What class of compound is DSIP?
A synthetic nonapeptide — a 9-amino-acid chain — originally isolated from rabbit thalamic venous blood. It is supplied as a lyophilized powder and handled as a peptide reference standard, not as a formulation. Our DSIP research peptide overview covers the sequence and the state of the published evidence in more depth.
What does the Certificate of Analysis report?
Each Certificate of Analysis reports HPLC purity, mass spectrometry identity confirmation, and net-content verification for that specific lot, and stays published in the COA library even after the batch sells out.
What physical form does it arrive in?
A white to off-white lyophilized (freeze-dried) solid, sealed in a single vial. Net quantity is 10mg. No preparation, reconstitution or handling instructions are supplied; those are determined by qualified personnel under your own institutional protocols.
