BPC-157 overview
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157, CAS# 137525-51-0) is a synthetic 15-amino-acid pentadecapeptide derived from a sequence originally identified in gastric juice protein. Research context
BPC-157 is used as a peptide tool compound in preclinical in vitro settings. Published work has examined its behaviour in cellular signalling assays, in vitro angiogenesis-related pathway studies, gastrointestinal research models, and cellular protection signalling investigations.
As a defined 15-amino-acid sequence with consistent structural characteristics between lots, it is used in controlled laboratory environments to study peptide–cell interactions and downstream signalling mechanisms. What testing does each batch go through?
Identity and purity are confirmed by high-performance liquid chromatography before a lot is listed. The current lot, NXP-BPC-002, tested at 99.68% on October 5, 2026, and also passed bacterial endotoxin testing. If a lot has not been tested, it does not go on sale.
What does endotoxin testing add?
HPLC establishes how pure the material is and that it is the compound stated. Endotoxin testing is a separate measure of bacterial endotoxin content in the lot, relevant to cell-based in vitro work where endotoxin can confound results independently of chemical purity. The current lot passed the USP <85> gel-clot LAL test; heavy metals were not tested on this lot.
What class of compound is BPC-157?
